Event and Ticket Policies

Code of Conduct: The Oregon Center for Nursing (OCN) is committed to providing an inclusive and harassment-free experience for everyone, irrespective of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Harassment in any form is not tolerated within our community.

Sexual or discriminatory language and imagery are inappropriate in all settings, including personal space, presentations, workshops, parties, and online media. Any community participant found violating these rules may face sanctions or expulsion from our events or venues, without a refund, at the discretion of our staff.

Photo and Media Release: As an attendee, you hereby grant the Oregon Center for Nursing permission to photograph, videotape, or digitally record and use images and/or sound recordings of you for advertising, marketing, fundraising, and promotional purposes. These images and recordings may be used in any public media, including internet, social media, print, or in the organization’s or its partners’ publications or posts. You understand and agree that you waive any rights or interest in the images or recordings as stated in this release.

General Policies: The following guidelines apply to all attendees, speakers, and sponsors.

  • Masking is not required per OHA guidelines, but you are welcome to do so for your own comfort.
  • Attendees must be at least 18 years old to attend conference-related activities. 
  • Electronically recording or broadcasting conference events is prohibited without prior written consent from OCN.
  • Seating at all conference sessions is first come, first served.
  • Information presented in sessions and on posters does not represent the views of OCN.
  • OCN cannot be held liable for non-refundable airline tickets or hotel room deposits.
  • OCN shall not be liable for any penalties or fare increases.
  • OCN is not responsible for lost items or returning those lost items to attendees.

Refunds: Tickets purchased can be canceled for a full refund (minus processing fees). Purchases within 5 days of the event are non-refundable. This includes any “no call, no show” attendees. To cancel and receive a refund, if eligible, please notify us in writing at callie.gisler@oregoncenterfornursing.org. Refunds, if applicable, will be based on the actual fees paid and returned to your original payment method within ninety days.

Transfering a Ticket: You may transfer your ticket, as long as you let us know in writing at least 10 days before the event starts. To request a ticket transfer, please email callie.gisler@oregoncenterfornursing.org with your email confirmation. Include the new attendee’s name and email.

Waiver of Liability: You agree and acknowledge that your participation in the 2024 Oregon Nursing Practice Transitions Conference and any related events and activities is voluntary and intentional. You fully accept responsibility for any and all injuries that occur as a result of your participation in symposium events and activities. You release OCN, PeaceHealth and its affiliates, officers, agents, employees, volunteers, contractors, and representatives, from any and all liability resulting from your voluntary participation in the 2024 Oregon Nursing Practice Transitions Conference, whether directly or indirectly caused by OCN or its event partners. You further agree that you will indemnify OCN and event partners from any and all liability resulting from your voluntary participation in the 2024 Oregon Nursing Practice Transitions Conference.

Event Cancellation: OCN and PeaceHealth reserve the right to cancel or postpone any or all conference activities due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of hosting organizations, which includes, without limitation, computer-related attacks, hacking, earthquakes, governmental regulation, fire, flood, labor difficulties, civil disorder, public health crisis, or acts of terrorism and acts of God (“Force Majeure Events”). In the event the 2024 Oregon Nursing Practice Transitions Conference is canceled due to Force Majeure Events, OCN will issue appropriate refunds to ticket purchasers.
